The COVID-19 Cost Estimator Tool, developed by Community Solutions in partnership with Kaiser Permanente, generates a rough estimate of the need and cost for the following interventions that your community might try in response to COVID-19:

• Providing quarantine and isolation (Q&I) units
• Providing permanent housing placements

The tool provides the option to estimate these costs for all individuals experiencing homeless, as well two medically vulnerable populations: individuals experiencing homelessness who are over the age of 50, and individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.

Since “medically vulnerable” can be defined differently, we encourage communities to use these two populations as a starting point.
